WOW I ACTUALLY DREW EVERYONE ON A PATROL FOR ONCE WHAT IS THIS
Pointless fun fact, due to the whole "virtual board game with kickass checkers pieces" feel I would get from Dungeons&Dragons and other tabletop rp's I played on Roll20.net, I often envisioned most of the Combat Scenes happening from all kinds of aerial views (re-imagining those scenes from a ground point of view always came later.) I guess I was feeling a little remniscent and wanted to play around with that kind of view for this assignment.
Granted, Anatomy is kind of way off in this image. Felines actually look ridiculously skinny from an aerial view due to their skeletal build, as evidenced here, but it didn't feel quite "right" making everyone look so narrow, and I ended up portraying cats' stocky or larger builds through their width, too. Meh. I still had fun drawing this.
Taariq and Percy were talking when Xalo suddenly shot between them to catch up to Cyn (and then leave her in the dust :'D ) Cynthia's all blissful, Vulcan's having a nice time, and Kain's just doing his own thing. Fovos is pissy with Xalo's hyperactive attitude and hisses for her to stop making so much noise. Jayr's probably cracking jokes and turning around to see if everyone's keeping up (that or he was taken aback by Fovy's reaction). Sugarra's leading the patrol, and Thoth is happily trotting alongside.

But every time I see it, even in a suggested thumbnail, it's so beautiful I have to click on it to see it again. I love this perspective. I think I love it so much because its nothing like how I draw or an angle I would ever try but it's such a neat idea and it turned out really well.
I would seriously love to try something like this one day. I'd have to get better at drawing and perspective first (I'm really horrendous at it lol, always have been even in my high school days) but its a cool concept, I hope you wouldn't mind be borrowing the idea if I ever tried it.
But yeah just saw I never did leave the comment so I wanted to tell you just how much I loved it. It's great. I stare at it often.
